After achieving fame on television for several years, Barun Sobti is now making a strong impact in the digital domain with his remarkable performances. His portrayal of Nikhil Nayar in the psychological thriller series Asur has received widespread acclaim, and the upcoming second season is highly anticipated for a June release. In a recent interview with Bollywood Life, Barun revealed that the success of Asur has brought about significant changes in his life and how people perceive him as an actor.
Barun Sobti shared, “Now people take me more seriously. The character I portrayed was quite challenging, with a lot of depth and complexity. I believe I managed to do justice to it, and that’s why people now view me as a serious actor. It’s a major milestone in my life.”
Before venturing into the digital space, Barun initially gained popularity as a household name through his roles in daily soap operas like Baat Hamari Pakki Hai and Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? However, he gracefully transitioned into the world of OTT platforms, taking up noteworthy projects. During the interview, Barun acknowledged the highs and lows that come with being an actor, particularly in an industry marked by intense competition.
In his next venture, the crime thriller Kohrra, Barun will star alongside Harleen Sethi. The series revolves around the murder of an NRI and the subsequent investigations. Directed by Randeep Jha, it premiered on Netflix on July 15. Throughout his career in the digital space, Barun has been a part of several other web shows such as Badtameez Dil, Tanhaiyan, and The Great Indian Dysfunctional Family.
